John Gill's Exposition of Old & New Testaments

John Gill was a superb commentator of the Bible. His knowledge of languages (Greek, Latin, Hebrew, Syriac, Arabic and Ethiopic to name a few…), of georgraphy, of philosophy and history were beyond any modern mind. In addition, apart from his thorough knowledge of Hebrew, something which, as an Israeli believer I appreciate very much, he had the most amazing knowledge of the Jewish Hebrew writings and makes many references to them as he writes, among those “Chizuk Emunah” – a collection of arguments against the New Testament and the Messiahship of the Lord Jesus, which he battles very aptly.

He was Baptist (particular baptist), congregationalist, Calvinist-reformed, covenant, yet pre-millennial. He wasn’t dispensationalist, but had a healthy dispensational approach in many areas.

This link is to his verse-by-verse commentary on the Bible, written 1746-1766.

Heroku

An Excellent webhosting company for Ruby and for Ruby on Rails applications. I have a few sites hosted on Heroku, including this one. Would you ever imagine that a company can have amazing success on a concept such as “Easy deployment of Ruby applications in the cloud”?

TryRuby.org

For those interested in entering the programming world, or getting re-acquainted with it, try this site, which gives you a short Ruby language tutorial. Ruby is a superb programming language. It’s powerful and elegant, but together with that, I found it’s not always so easy as some might think.
